This was going to be a DD/track/burn, but there are 4 contenders in he approx. $60k category:
Contender #1: Audi RS3
Contender #2: BMW M2
Contender #3: Ford GT350
Contender #4: 2x VW GTIs

I’d buy a used GT350 and GTI for $60k total instead.

Close. The correct answer is 60 Nissan Stanzas.

Contentor #5: 1 x VW GTI + 1x Jeep Wrangler (2 dr / manual / soft roof)
Xmas color coordination is optional.

Ford owners dumb enough to pay $30k over stick still asking $50k+ for used GT350s.

Daily the GTIs. Hopefully one can stay out of the stealer ship service bay at all times.
Track the M2.
Take the Mustang to C ars and Coffee j ust to watch the terror in people’s faces when the car goes all Christine on them.
Ignore the other VW.

The GT350 is better than anything listed here

M2 is more special but the RS3 is more practical. I would have to drive both. The thing about the RS3 that is very interesting is tunability. That thing is $5k from being a supercar eating monster.

Go back to 1963 and buy 3 brand new Ferrari 2 50 GTOs? Oh, that’s not an option? Fine then.

I'm not a BMW guy. I have owned 5 mustangs, and currently own one. I'd go with the M2.

Yeah, unless you know someone who can get them at auction for ~ $40k...

RS3 - If I’m limited to just these 4 options. It can be as angry and aggressive or comfortable and gentle as you want. Plus, it puts a smile on your face...it certainly did on mine. I even forgot while driving it
that I felt a bit
cramped in it.

M2. It’s the best for me personally. Glorious exhaust note, feels premium inside (enough for me), looks great from the outside fantastic paint.
The RS3 is a bit plain for my tastes. And it’s hard to think of them as true enthusiast cars anymore.
The gt350 I would gladly take if it wasn’t a Mustang. Can I get the cayote engine in the M2...?

E46 with a coyote swap. Poor man’s M3 GTR.
This is a car/engine combo I’m considering for the convertible role. Others are b6 s4 with ls3 —> 427 swap and I’m undecided between nc or ND with an ls swap. Nc is better for my height seems to handle that engine and its character better , nd just looks pure sex.
![]() 09/20/2018 at 00:45 |

Normally I’d say ND. But... I’ve seen quite a few good looking NC’s lately and they’re starting to grow on me.
Remember, whenever you do carry through with one of the above swaps, you're required by law to attend the next Oppo meet to show it off

D00d, I’ve wanted to make so many meets. I last filled up in early August with my DD. I love driving, but with kids and work, I can’t really go out anywhere. I want to track, autox, group meet up, etc. but real life just beats the shit out of me on that.
First car I’ll take out will be my WRX. It’s good.
Fuck that NC looks good. RPF1s look amazing on so many cars. They’re the heir apparent to TE37s, no?

I’d probably get the RS3. I especially like the way it looks in yellow, orange, or another bright color.
Of course, if you got two GTIs, you could get (at least) one of them in Cornflower Blue, and you’d have a spare car in case one of them spends some time in the shop.
